Google’s Chrome App Launcher

Window users can now download google Chrome app Launcher from google webstore, giving you some instant access to common web-based google service that you added into your google account for google chrome.

This menu will be display if you run the launcher you installed at your desktop.

I can see google chrome direction is to drive users using their product and web service by 3rd party from desktop and in future any device for that as well. This was originally built for Chrome OS as a way of promoting Google’s own services and replicating some of the functionality found in the taskbar or dock of a traditional desktop operating system.

I am not a big fans of native window apps, in fact have a web app launcher will be a first step closer to cloud-base apps setup. I am wondering when people will choose chrome apps over native windows apps.

I am looking forward and hope google chrome can take over native apps in mobile and tablet with more ideas coming in for that.
